The benefits of engineered wood flooring
When we talk about high-quality flooring, we often mention engineered flooring. At first glance, it looks identical to solid hardwood flooring. Its wood species, texture and finish can actually help create this similarity. Take for example our white oak engineered flooring.
There are countless colours that can be used to decorate your room. However, there are a few special features that distinguish it from the latter.
The top layer is made from hardwood, and the balance of the layers from high-density fibreboard (HDF) or reverse-fibre plywood depending on the quality of the product. A higher quality product will have layers of plywood with interlocking fibres. This type of wood flooring is also resistant to warping, has a low rate of variation between boards and is an ideal choice for any surface. Traditionally, it is installed with a nailer, but there is also clip-in flooring, a variant that requires few tools for installation.
Moisture-resistant engineered flooring
This type of wood floor is considered to be one of the most moisture resistant. This means that it will have less expansion and contraction and less cracking over time. So in summary:
- Has a very durable surface and stands up well to everyday impacts
- Low rate of manufacturing change
- Resistant to moisture and deformation
- Easy to install on multiple surfaces
- Easy to clean and does not retain dust, allergens and pet hair
